Animal Essentials Colon Rescue (Phytomucil) Dog & Cat Supplement, 2-oz

When we adopted our boxer/pit mix at 8 weeks old she had severe Giardia. She was under weight and would not eat. Once we got rid of the parasite with meds (this took about 6 months) she was left with a damaged GI tract. This made her a horribly finicky eater and most of the time she would not eat at all. She needed Pepcid and Tylan powder daily to keep for being nauseous and having sever diarrhea. I happened on this tincture by reading about holist remedies for GI issues. It was like finding gold!!! She quickly developed an appetite to fit her size (72 pounds), and started having normal poops. I never thought solid turds could make me so happy! After using this product for a month we took her off Pepcid and after six months she was off Tylan (an antibiotic). We still have to give the product three times per day but will soon work down to one. We also lucked out with our doctor who did some research and came up with more complete dosing directions than those on the bottle. Start off with 80 drops three times a day given twenty minuets before meals. Give this amount until you see solid poops for two weeks then reduce to 60 drops three times per day. Finally, with increments of two weeks between reductions, reduce to one time per day as maintenance. Our girl still eats a sensitive stomach dry food but with the Phytomucil we have been able to augment her diet with lightly cooked meats, liver, and even a bit of raw green tripe. She is now a strong healthy one year old with lots of energy and funny smiles now that her tummy feels good and she gets the full nutrition from her meals.

Years ago our holistic vet introduced us to this product when our cat got stopped up. As Daniel the Cat has aged, he now requires two doses a day. At nearly 20 years old, he's doing quite well!
